"Dorod," starring Shakib Khan, will debut on OTT before its Indian release
Anonno Mamun's "Dorod" has not been shown in Indian theaters for months after its November 15 debut in Bangladesh, despite early assurances of a simultaneous release in India. The movie has already made its premiere in more than 20 countries, including the USA, Thailand, and Canada, but there are still delays in its much awaited Indian release. In a press conference in India prior to the 2023 filming, Anonno Mamun stated that "Dorod" would be the first pan-Indian film from Bangladesh and would be released in five languages. The movie has yet to make its Indian premiere, though. OTT platforms have made it possible for people to see the film from the comfort of their homes. Whether "Dorod" will eventually be shown in Indian theaters is still up in the air. Another hurdle for the movie was that it couldn't get a release in Pakistan. Pakistani distributors decided against going ahead with a release after seeing the movie. Mamun was also criticized for how poorly "Dorod" was promoted before it was released. His initial pledge was to host a lavish trailer release event for Shakib Khan's supporters and reveal the teaser for the renowned Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The movie's box office performance was harmed by inadequate marketing, and none of those promotional attempts were successful. Although it had a respectable first day of attendance, on the second day, the movie was having trouble in both single-screen and multiplex theaters.
